Tests and Labratory:

Mare’s fundamental principle is to develop products through tuff research studies. Our laboratory measures the quality of existing production while also developing through research as an interrelated and integrated activity. Mare laboratory has features far exceeding a standard concrete laboratory testing the specs of the stone material while also testing systems established from the stone material. Further, lab has capacities for aesthetical or artistic preparation of new products having sample mixing, pressing, cutting, processing facilities.

What can be realized at our laboratory:
• Aggregate abrasion test
• Unit weight

• Water absorption
• Compressive strength
• Tensile strength
• Abrasion
• Gloss measurement
• Visual porosity observation ( microscope)
• System impact test (EOTA)
• Wind load test (ASTM C 1201)
• Stone/Aluminum profile break (pull –out) strength (anchorage ASTM-C1354 )
• Aging-freeze thaw test
• Lab type vibration press for samples
• Lab Type cutting facility
• Lab purpose polish, hone, bush hammer etc. face operation facilities

As such, Mare is able to perform many tests for her purposes and is in search for developing for further details. The tests which cannot be done at our facilities or test for official purposes are performed at instutions like Istanbul Technical University Building Materials Laboratories.

Test Results :

• • The thin (12 mm) Mare Cladding Plates with a thin mesh backing support are tested for most severe impact conditions. Test as per EOTA which are referred by BS 8200 are implemented on 30 and to cm width and 120 cm length plates where 50 kg glass filled bag is thrown from 3 mt distance with 183 cm height to their weakest paints. Only cracks and bending have occurred but no single plate fell from its place, either any piece from them fell down. Test have been contacted with cracks no “negative result” have been observes.

Same tests have been implemented to 3 cm thick Marmara White marble stones resulting the stone breaking away from the anhcorages. At 2cm thickness this marble cracks from anhorage points and collapse at 300 NM loads.

• Mare Cladding Bresl of 30x120 , 30x150, 60x120 and 60x150 have been tested for ASTM C 1201. The 60x150 panels had minimum 410 kg/m2 and maximum 450 kg/m2 resistance, while 60x120 had minimum 390 kg/m2, maximum 510 kg/m2 . The 30x150 panels had 550 kg/m2 to 560 kg/m2, while 30x120 had minimum 530 kg/m2 and 610 kg/m2. The panels with light mesh supporting at their backs had further more values up to 850 kg /m2. The avarage increases were 15% at avarege.

These values are considerably high. The highest calculated wind load for high rise ( >100m) building in Turkey are 165 kms/hour yielding 130 kg/m2 (TS498). At United States South Florida, against severe hurricane highest design load is taken as 400 kg/m2 . Mare system resists these loads comfortably.
